Landon got a couple of classroom awards on Friday. These were voted on by his classmates. He received Nicest Boy and Most Outgoing. He was so happy. I was tickled for him. He told me when he got home from school that they were giving out report cards, but he couldn't get his since he owed $4.05 in lunch money. He said that James didn't have any money to pay it. Then he started worrying that we had no money. James just didn't have a check or any cash with him. I took him back down to school to pay his money so he could get his report card. He has been worried to death that he was going to have a "B". He had straight A's. James told him at the beginning of school that if he made straight A's all nine weeks and swept the awards, he would get $500. Not sweeping awards but having straight A's for all nine weeks would get him $250. He should know better than make deals like that. Landon got all but one last year. Right now he knows he will get the $250. Waiting on Monday to see if he gets the rest. I just hope he has an installment plan. He has the same deal with Logan. Logan gets $250 for AB all four nine weeks and will get $500 for straight A's all nine weeks. Logan has been sitting on the $250 for 3 nine weeks. He will get his report card Tues. He thinks he is all A/B but is worried about one that may have went to a C. I still think James will pay up. I don't have any idea where James is going to get all this money, but GOOD LUCK to him. I'm not paying, I don't make deals like that.

The Eagle and the Crow
A good friend of mine sent me this devotional. She knows that I have some "pests" in my life and I thank her for sharing this. It really does make sense of things. Even though I have forgave the "pests" in my life, I still have to deal with them.
As An EagleSoaring Above
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31
All throughout scripture, the person who continues to trust in and hope in the Lord is compared to an eagle. I personally like that comparison. However, even in nature we find that even an eagle as pests, one of those pests is a crow. My husband used to have a crow that came in our yard every day and he would feed it. I didn't like the crow, I certainly didn't feed it. For one thing it kept other birds, much more pleasant birds, out of our yard and I didn't like that. I found that crows are controlling and mean and very irritating. Let me share with you what happens between a crow and an eagle. As I said, the crow is a pest to the eagle. Just a pest, it can't really compete with an eagle, not in beauty, not in the heights it can fly, really not in any aspect, yet it continues to try to irritate the eagle. When an eagle is flying, often a crow will come up right behind him and start to aggravate him. He will fly right behind the eagle to pester and irritate him. Although the eagle is much larger, it can't move as quickly. However, the eagle has a way to get rid of his pest. To rid himself of the crow the eagle stretches his eight-foot wingspan and catches a current and rises higher and higher. Eventually, the eagle reaches an altitude where no other bird can fly and live. Crows can't even breathe at that height. Eagles have been spotted at heights of 20,000 feet, almost as high as a jet flies. Now, you may have some pests in your life. You know what I mean, certain people who simply rub you the wrong way, who seem to be around just to irritate. Today, let's take a lesson from the eagle - let's rise higher. Don't lower yourself to their level, refuse to fly with crows. As a n eagle you can soar higher and higher, high above the irritations of life and rise to new heights - heights where those things from the enemy can't even breathe. You are an eagle, made in the image of God. You are not a crow, you live in a totally different altitude or at least you should. You were not designed to fly with crows. You were not created to lower yourself to their standard but to rise high above principalities and powers and rulers of the darkness of this world. You live in a totally different atmosphere. Don't allow the pests of life to control you. Stop reacting to what they do and rise above. Stop being controlled by the irritating things of life and rise above. Stop allowing other people to dictate where you fly - rise above. Do you hope in the Lord today? Then rise - renew your strength and rise above all the distractions and pests, soar on wings like eagles, rise above the atmosphere that the enemy is in and go into the secret place of the Most High God, I can assure you, your enemy will not be found there.
I hope this little devotion helped you (if you need it) as it did me.

Serious Post....An Invite for all of YOU!
Logan, Landon and I will be baptised on Sunday, June 8th at Starr Baptist Church during the morning service. We would like it if all of you would be there to join us in this joyous occassion. Landon is so excited to have me being baptised with him. I am just giddy from all of it. I know that Rossie and my grandma are looking down now smiling and will be looking down that day with huge smiles and maybe a few tears in their eyes. We told Rossie before she died that everything we did was going to make her proud. I know this one will surely do the trick! Logan is a little nervous, but excited as well. James has said he doesn't know if he will be able to sit in the congregation with no tears on his face. He is so proud of us for doing this. He even offered to do his baptisim again so that we could all participate, but we want him to see us, the three of his heart, take this step and make him proud. Please stand in prayer with us as we patiently await this day to come.

Them Goodlooking Hewell Brothers
I know, their hair is long and I know they look all shaggy and hippy wannabe's but I love 'em. So, I guess I will keep 'em.

Ok...Here Goes!
Ansley, my sweet niece, this is for you. I love your blog and will look at it everyday. I started this blog for you and all my select friends to view. I do have another blog that I did start, but I don't let people read that one. It's more my online journal. Anyway, I hope I can stay dedicated to this one and put up lots of pictures, stories and general thoughts that will keep you all entertained.
